Still here...
Still have power...

Now we have snow on top of the ice.

I went out in this twice to refill the bird feeders.

They are having a feeding frenzy!

It's really coming down...

...and I am toasty by the fireplace.

Painting and sewing today.

stormy weather

It's here...

the nasty freezing rain and ice covered everything!

I have food prepared that can be heated on the grill if we should lose power or should I say when we lose power. Shopping at the commissary yesterday was just plain nuts! We have the gas fireplace on and plenty of food. We can't even see out of any of the windows...they are ice covered. All 77 counties in Oklahoma are under a state of emergency.

So, DH is home and working from his laptop and I am up in the studio sewing up a storm so I will have something to do when we lose power. I hate wasting time. So I am up here with Ethel Merman and several other Broadway babies.

Remember my stash of selvedges? This is a little bag I made (I taught a class back in MD.)using the selvedge edges and dryer sheets. Easy peasy to make. Alex Anderson was coming to the quilt shop where I taught and the girls made her a bag like this using her line of fabric's. When I was at the Quilt Festival in Houston a few years back I saw Alex and she saw my bag and came up to me and said "I have one of those!" I smiled and said I know you do. That was so cool. I miss her TV show....I always learned something or got a new idea or two.

I wish I had mentioned the dental stuff before going thru with the procedures. Oh well.

I underwent a funky root canal thru my crown yesterday.

After all the pain and money...

...they tell me I need a new crown as soon as possible.

What the??

Makes no sense to me...or my purse.

Good news is my kidney function is back up...YAY!

So I am busy making a new batch of dolls and a line of Art dolls.

Expecting a huge, dangerous storm on Thursday.

They are calling for snow...sleet... and...ice

Oh My!!

To really appreciate the beauty of this quilt....you need to see it in person.

Once again I apologise for not acknowledging the quilt artist.

I need to start taking a photo of the names to go with the quilts.

Anyway it looks lacy and it looks that way because...

It is stitched all over with white thread.

And I do mean all over!

This is the back of the quilt.

I wish I had a dollar for every stitch in that quilt!

Tuesday update

The quilt show was....

...a little scant on quilts this year.

But great for shopping.

Heard that someone new took it over.

I saw this quilt from across the room and thought ahhhh.

Looks like Ruth McDowell.

And yes, she used Ruth's book Pieced Flowers.

I have that book somewhere....

...on my ever growing to-do list.

I thought of Spring, my favorite season.
And now we are having spring like temps all week.
In the 60's!
Love it.

I will show some more favorite quilts this week.

And I have not forgotten our little contest with those

Tuesday stuff

Still here....

...happily back on my old computer.

Lost the cord for downloading photo's.

Looked for it all day...

DH found it...right where I left it....duh!

So the last couple days I have been printing my own fabric.

It's so much fun but I have other things I need to attend to.

I printed these up for a project...

....the first person to tell me what they are will win a prize.

Hint: they are not square potato chips.

...tomorrow I will show you what this is.

It's one of my favorite gifts.

Yay! I'm back complete with my pictures.

This is my first "green" bag.

Made with recycle fabric's.

Forgot to photograph the inside.

It was skull fabric.

It's a new year so I am back purchasing yummy fabric's again.

Quilt show this weekend!!

hanging in there

My blog feels so naked without any photo's.

I downloaded some pic's and now I can't find them.

This weekend I will be able to go back to my old computer.

Things will be normal again.

I know things are supposed to be better with the new one.

Change is not always the best thing for me.

It is freaking cold here today!!!

It's 13 degrees.

That should be illegal.

I know there are people laughing at me from some of the colder states.

I lived in upstate NY for 7 years and got used to the cold.

But I don't care for the ice.

Last night after bowling we had to drive 25 miles home...

...on a solid sheet of ice!

It took nearly an hour....not my idea of fun.

And you have the nutballs that are driving like it's everyday traffic.

They nearly spun us out.

Today I am thankful to have power...

...and be in my warm home.

Not whining....just telling it like it is.

Hello and Happy artful new year to all!

I am back from our Christmas trip back East.

We drove this year from Oklahoma to Maryland.

We needed to avoid getting the dreaded swine flu on a plane.

Anyway...we got a new computer and our old one is now up in the studio.

It's not hooked up to the internet yet....needs some kind of thingy to get it going.

soooo.....no photo's :(

I have lots to show but I am learning the new Windows 7 on the new computer.

I have friends and family that check in on me thru my blog....

...so just letting y'all know we are OK .

Sorry for the boring first blog post of the year....

....it will get better.
