YAY!

I'm in shock....took second place with my little ragged quilt.

Coming in second behind the fabulous Lola Jenkins is an honor.

Lola is going to be on Alex Anderson's show....I'm so happy for her.

I have met Alex twice and she is a real sweetheart.

...and it was on my Mom's birthday.

She is the one who inspired me to sew and make quilts.

And the one I blame for my fabriholic condition.

I have gone almost a month now with no new fabric purchases...yay!

It's off to the Paseo Arts Festival this weekend...

...it's going to be 90 degrees...ouch!

This is my piece for the President's Challenge.

The only rules for this were that you had to use what you already had on hand.

No purchasing anything new to create.

Anyone that knows me...knows I could make at least 10 full size quilts with what I have in my stash.

These are whack-a-do blocks with one side a floral print and the other is a leaf print.

You can click on the photo to enlarge and see a little closer.

That is the only rhyme or reason here.

The back is all selvages.

DH likes the back better.

Not sure about putting a label on it.

And the edges are a nice frayed finish.

I am into frayed raw edges these days...

...wonder how many people will gasp at that and say it's not finished.

Tonight is the guild meeting...

...I know I won't win anything...but it was a real challenge to me with all that is going on right now with building, packing and trying to sell a house.

And I had fun....made myself do it...and I like it.

Well...I had my quilt for the President's challenge laid out on the floor in the order that looked best... stepped away for a few minutes to take a phone call.


Harley had other plans...guess he wasn't pleased with the arrangement. He took it upon himself to rearrange my blocks.

I threw in the towel!

He was happy.

Well, today is the day.

Putting our home on the market.

I'm thinking it will probably take a year to sell with the market the way it is.

We'll see.

She will be one of my new Delaware neighbors.

I tried to post earlier today....yesterday?

My computer was not cooperating.

So here I am shutting down the computer for the day.

I always say better late than never.

This looks like some abstract art... it's the dressing room floor at Nordstrom's.

I altered it a bit of course.

Then there are the pansies on my niece's porch....


...a dramatic change.

We have decided to put our house on the market this Friday...

...so you know what I am doing all week.

I am doing well with the art studio.

As I clean it up I am also packing so I can kill two birds with one stone.

Back to my altered photo's.

...and I turned it into this.

Of course I like it cool.

Hello all!

Another day of severe weather here in OK.

It's thundering and the house is rocking....

...DH on his way home from Boston.

Yep, once again I weathered the storms without him.

As I said earlier in the week I have a new app on my iphone that allows me to alter photo's.

This was as creative as I could be...being away from my studio.

My Grandson's race bikes and I caught my youngest sitting under a tree waiting for his turn.

So for fun I reversed the color's on this one.
Gave him a pink bike.

Then went back to the original colors and added some fog.

It really makes all the wheels stand out.

back

And what a welcome I received from Mother Nature and Oklahoma. Yesterday was a complete loss in more ways than one. I survived the wrath of tornadoes...spent some time in my little shelter getting reacquainted with my two cats. A pretty wild day...one friend lost their house.

On a happier note about houses, I went back to the East coast and bought a new home! The above pic is the lot I picked out and the home is going to be built. It is about 10 miles from my favorite beach. This will be our retirement house.

So now I am busy cleaning out the studio and packing up the excess so that we can put the house on the market next week.

Once I get it done I will be able to make some art and most of it will be sewing art....so bear with me.

Meanwhile I took a bunch of interesting photo's and had some fun altering them, so I will show those to you.
