show n' tell

This weekend I decided to make myself a wallet to go with my new bag that I showed off last week.

....here is the front....

...and the back...
I used some Tim Holtz hardware to secure the closing.

...the inside...

When making your own stuff you can personalize. I don't always wear my medical ID as I should so I put the info in other places instead. I used rubber stamps with Staz-On ink. Of course my selvage edges were put to use again. I just love them.

One last thing to show is my first crop of string beans. In my family I am known as the string bean queen. Loved them since I was knee high to a string bean. So this year I took one of my flower gardens and made it a little bean garden. They were yum-o in the words of Rachel Ray.
I like picking them when they are small and tender...nothing better!
Have a great week!

baggage

A new bag reveal.
...with art hearts....

...and selvages..

...painted lady...

and

mine!

I broke down and made myself a new bag. It's colorful and funky...like me. Now I am off to finish a few projects and get some work done around the house.

Have yourself a wonderful Wednesday!

thinking outside the box

Do you see things for what they are ? Or what they could be? I do the latter. I always see beyond the surface. Take these earrings for instance. I was cruising thru the mall at a pretty fast clip to avoid all the vendors that want to slather you with their miracle creams...when I stumbled across these rather large heart earrings....for a mere dollar. Could I resist? Nope!

...so I took them home...
And I took them apart and sanded them and made them a darker shade using Raisin alcohol ink.
Poked a hole and added some Tim Holtz goodies and a pin back and....

VOILA!
..a funky new pin has emerged...
I
hope
your
Tuesday
is heARTful!

...and the winner is....

I admit that I am an award show junkie. Next to the Oscars, the Tony's are my favorite. Did you see them last night? I had a feeling that Billy Elliott would win and it did. I have always loved New York city and Broadway.

Now for the winner of last weeks drawing for the big 500th post celebration! Insert cheers here.

...names in the hat....

...and DH picks the winner...

....and it's Sandy Mastroni! YAY!
(dang! someone needs a manicure...don't look at my fingernails.)

Have a great week!
Suze...out!

odds & ends

There is no rhyme or reason to today's blog post...just some random ramblings.

I saw this pillow in the window of Pottery Barn Kids and thought it was adorable. I hope to have a beach cottage one day and this would fit right in with my decor.

....absolutely love these glass cupcake earrings!...
She makes all kinds and you can find them here.

...this was a bag I made for a friend...

....and a card for another friend that suffered a nasty fall whilst running from a bee...
...sorry Franc!

I am off to eat lunch and get started on some much needed straightening and cleaning and creating and not necessarily in that order.
Have a tremendous thursday!

getting out.....

Not much going on today...have to put my car in the shop so they can fix a few minor things. Yes, this is my new car. The black one had some issues so we took it back and got this one instead. It doesn't look as mean as the black but the stripe shows up better and this one has the GPS that I wanted. (Don't tell my sister.)

....it's one sweet ride....

...and speaking of sweet....I saw this last week...sweet!

Hope your day is sweet too!

painted ladies

Did you know that painted ladies is a term used for Victorian and Edwardian houses and buildings that are painted in three or more colors that embellish or enhance their architectural details? I love them.

These are my painted ladies. I painted them on canvas cloth for a project I am working on. I painted two to see which one turns out. I like to make two....then if one bombs...I have the other...hopefully. This time I like them both but the top is my favorite.
Doctor update...now I have asthma. Turn another year older and get a new disease. I will conquer this one too!
Hope your week is going well.

hello monday

It has been requested that I bring back the banner with the pink shoe. It makes some people smile and I can't take that away......so it's baaaack!

Monica is back with her Pink Artist cause to raise money for the breast cancer cure. I will be participating again this year. To check it out just click on the icon above.

I found this interesting grave stone and thought is it mine? Could be. Or it could simply say A R T .
This week I am working on some art and a new fancy bag. Seeing the doctor today to hopefully get something to kick this crud. I just don't have time for it. I have classes to prepare for and a to-do list a mile long.
