The Snowy Day...

...a book by Ezra Jack Keats.

Can't say how many times I read this book to my daughter.

And she read it to her kids.

Anyway it's been snowing here all day...

...but it's a gentle non threatening snow.

No studio work today...just housework.

...but last week I made this little monster guy.

a lot of fun!

I named him Elmoe.
I plan to make some friends for him.

It's a dreary day and I could not get a good shot of her...

...but you get the idea.

Since it's February....

....I am showing my latest hearts.

...a dozen sweet hearts.

...broken heart?

...bleeding hearts

Fabric hearts on stamped surface...some of the hearts bleed and add a nice pink to the background.

....added stitching to outline.



...and I have all my hearts in a row.

monday stuff

It's back today....

...the cold snow.

An excellant cooking day !

So I made a pot of home made soup...

...and a big batch of my spaghetti sauce.

The house smells wonderful!

Glad to hear I inspired some of you to get started on yours.

I used a matchbook envelope for my pattern.

Then I used a double sided paper to make the cards.

On the inside I put pockets to put money and gift cards in.
I embellished with tea tags, some Tim Holtz hardware and

some random stamping.

The hearts on the front of the cards are spiffed up with some Stickles.



...signed and dated.



Tomorrow I will show some other hearts I have been working on.

Valentine's are finished and sent.

YAY! It's Friday....

....getting out while the getting is good!

I was finally able to get out yesterday!

Had a great lunch with friends....

....bowled well last night...

...life is good.

The weather is very cold and damp...

...and guess what?

Another storm is on it's way!

Meanwhile I am working away in the studio...

...finished up my Valentines.

We drove this road to Target yesterday...

...not a good idea....it was a total sheet of ice.

We made it home safely but did manage to crash into our own garage door.

No damage to the car...just the door.

But I had to get my 3-D glasses for the Grammy's.


This is the field behind my house.

We had freezing fog and drizzle.

It makes these incredible spiky icicles.

...they are kind of creepy.

I am hoping my trees survive this abuse from Mother Nature.

Today was a waste because we lost power...so I pulled the couch up next to the fireplace and caught up on reading. I tried painting but didn't have enough light. Everything I wanted to do required electricity....something I tend to take for granted until I lose it.

The good news....it's back on and DH brought home a pizza for dinner.
