play day

Another day of play. This time it's off to the Vintage flea market at Fair Park. It's always the first weekend of the month and I have never been. Not looking for anything special...just looking.
Then it's DH's pick for dinner...a toss up between Pearls (cajun) or Ted's (mexican) I don't care which one he chooses. Both are good.

kitty khaos

October has just begun and already Pepper has caused some mischief. She has a thing for plastic bags and now she seems to have a thing for marshmallows. I tucked the bag away under the couch pillow until I got up to put them away. Out of sight ....out of mind and I forgot. Well, she found them and this is what I woke up to find this morning.

She was carrying that bag around in her mouth and yes there were little nibble marks on the marshmallows. Then she decided that they were fun to bat around with her paws.
Not so clear photos but you get the point.
After two straight days spent in the studio I am breaking out today and see what kind of mischief I can get into. Ha!
Have an artful weekend!

just for fun

I just love these stamps by Penny-Torrente at Stampotique. And this girl is my favorite.

So I made a multiple shot. Actually I stamped her on my favorite.....paint chip samples and added a little extra color and some printed tissue paper. I am using them on my tags that I use as business cards. That is my favorite tissue paper and I am out of it and can not find it anywhere!

This is what I did yesterday. I am STILL cleaning up the studio and wanted something to store some of my books in. I got a couple of these boxes for free. The store was throwing them away.

I got a roll of prepasted wallpaper at Sherwin Williams for 25 cents. They were in a bucket and I didn't exactly know what the print looked like but I liked the color and for 25 cents you can't go wrong. I wasn't worried about matching up the print. It's just getting shoved into a shelf.
I set it outside to dry and......

.....my books fit in perfectly.

...here...you don't have to squint. I love my books and refer to them often.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

new stuff

A new month has arrived. This is the time of the year when time really flies. Holidays seem to run into each other and the next thing you know it's a new year. It seems that the older I get the faster time goes by. Yikes!
I got a call from a friend on Friday night that she needed an emergency bag for a Sunday birthday party. No problem....I put this together for her daughters friend.

favorite color.....purple

a cute girly print for the inside

tomorrow.....more pink attitude

bee happy

Just one more flower picture. Another thing I love about the morning glory is its graceful tendrils. The way her stems just wander about looking for a place to wrap around. It's kind of creepy in a way. I would love to see fast forward footage of them.

Now about that bee. See him/her? inside the white flower?

That bee came out so full of pollen that it could barely move.

It couldn't fly away and just hung around for a while.
I think it was interesting and was glad to be there to get these shots.
Have a good Tuesday!

flying saucers

Yes, it's my glories again. I have been avoiding going out to the back yard since hearing about the snakes. I looked out there yesterday and OMG the whole back fence is a wash of blues and purples! They are awesome! Click on the photo to see the real beauty. Tomorrow I will take you to the white morning glories and show you a funny bee.

Speaking of awesome, DH and I went to see the RENT filmed on Broadway. The last performance. I didn't know what to expect as far as the filming but they did an outstanding job!
Having been active in local theater, I know those feelings of a last performance and a standing ovation....the emotions go on and on. Bravo!
I rate this a ten tissue movie.
