number 300!

I did not realize that today is my 300th post! I just noticed the little counter thingie as I signed on. If I had known I would have made a banner or something. But anyway I will come up with some sort of prize and just leave me a comment and I will pick a winner and send you something. Seventeen more days and it will be my one year anniversary of blogging. That will be a big prize.

Now about the birds. I heard a lot of chirping and commotion going on outside my office window and I looked out and the adult birds seemed to be having flight school going on. There were about 25 Eastern Phoebe's lined up on the gutter and they were showing off their flying skills or something.
It drove the cats crazy!

new car lovin'.....check out yesterday's temps!
it's just wrong
I can't believe I went out in that...I waited until after 4 PM and it was still that HOT!!

My daughter says I'm old school....is that bad? Is it my fuzzy dice?

I can play my iPod in the car...how cool is that?
OK (Marc) I will show the whole car ....tomorrow!

I know what you mean about the heat. Just to let you know about 4 p.m. is the hotest part of the day. It builds all day.

Have your house checked for bugs: either ants or termites (eek); Eastern phoebes gather for insect swarms and a termite nest doing a swarm is very fat-rich food for birds which need every ounce of energy to build reserves for migrating soon. What looks like a flying exhibition may in fact be a gathering to take advantage of a buffet!
btw; cool vehicle

Thanks Janice, I didn't know that about the birds. Living here we have the bug guys come out every month. And just after they spray there are a bunch of bug carcusses laying around. I did see some cricket legs under the window that they sleep in.
