nature day

The babies are flying!
Here they are all lined up and ready to go.
Does anyone know what type of birds these are?
They are black on the back and have sweet faces and a split tail.

It was a little cooler this morning so I was able to work in the yard a bit. It's starting to heat up and it's very humid today. Feels so good to have a day off from packing.... off to lunch and then a little sewing.

These look like barn swallows. We get them most years and love seeing them, but you have to be careful because sometimes they get a mean streak and swoop down at you like Blue Jays. Most of the time they are very pleasant though.

I think your babies are swallows.... they build mud nests and I think they eat mosquitos. Ask my Lisa.... she usually knows.

I like your textile work, very nice. Thats such a delightful picture of the baby birds, those are swallows for sure (one of my favourite birds), you can also tell by the nest (swallows make it from a mixture of their spit with mud and and sand along with grass and other stuff). Would it be okay if I used that picture to draw them, just love it?

Very nice blog.
